I've spent the last decade in classrooms and the last six years building Bold and Bright Academy from my garage classroom in Las Vegas into a program serving families around the world. I was named Nevada's 2023 Early Childhood Educator of the Year — but what I'm most proud of is the relationships I've built with the families and children in this program.
I specialize in early childhood literacy, phonics, and personalized learning, with a focus on Pre-K -3rd grade. This fall, I'll be completing my Orton-Gillingham certification, bringing specialist-level reading intervention to students of all ages who need it most."

Veronica Hanway, MA, BS.
Hi there! I’m Veronica and developed a strong passion for teaching while growing up in the Rocky Mountains. My teaching journey began in early childhood education in 2009. Through earning my Bachelors of Science and Masters in Geography, and going to graduate school, I began teaching at the university level. In addition to teaching, I have worked as a research scientist and consultant on projects focused on water resources, climate change, and disaster preparedness. I'm currently pursuing my PhD and working with clean air communities.
My teaching philosophy centers on student-led learning through creative expression, real-world applications, and fun in a safe environment for students to be themselves. As a mother, National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, and teacher I know the importance of an inclusive and nurturing educational space where learners can grow and expand their worldviews. My interactive classes are a unique blend of educational content, decolonial and feminist pedagogy, and creativity where each of my students feel seen, heard, and celebrated.

Hi, I'm Mr. Chris, a homeschooling father, award-winning musician, and lifelong learner with a passion for making education joyful and meaningful.
With nearly 30 years of musical experience and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Wyoming, I bring a unique blend of creativity, discipline, and real-world perspective to everything I teach. Music has taught me that the best learning happens when students feel safe, seen, and excited to participate — and that philosophy shapes every class I lead.
At Bold and Bright Academy, I teach Music Appreciation, Reading Comprehension, and Mindfulness. Whether we're exploring rhythm and instruments, building stronger readers, or practicing tools for focus and emotional wellness, my goal is always the same: to create a warm, interactive space where every child feels confident and capable.
